1. Beer and vodka, not just for drinking anymore
Beer cleans gold, vodka cleans silver – who knew? Other good ones are club soda, white vinegar and ketchup.
2. Button up
Use old buttons to keep pairs of earrings together. This tip isn’t just for travel, you can use it in your own jewelry box and never waste another minute scavenging for that second earring again.
3. The last straw
We all know how annoying it is when your fave necklace tangles into a ball of frustration. To nix the knots, undo your necklace and feed one end through a straw, then attach the clasp at the other end for tangle-free travel.
4. But what if it was already tangled?
Two words: baby up. Baby oil or baby powder work wonders and saves tears.
5. Speaking of tangles
Jewelry boxes may be pretty but they can be jerks for holding jewelry. Get mini adhesive hooks from the dollar store and affix them to the wall so you can hang up your necklaces and bracelets.
6. Let it roll
Hang on to toilet paper rolls and use them to wrap your bracelets around while travelling.
7. Stuck on you
Have a ring that just won’t come off? Use Windex – aside from being a lubricant, it’ll help shrink your finger so the ring will slide off easily.
